The Chat Agent is a built-in AI assistant that can answer your questions about J1 Template directly on the website. It is powered by Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic. You do not need an account or any setup — just type a question and get a helpful answer.

The Chat Agent knows about all J1 Template features, including the video player, playlists, import and export, series support, and more. It draws its knowledge from a dedicated knowledge base that is kept up to date with each release.

What the Chat Agent Can Do

The Chat Agent is designed to help you get the most out of J1 Template. You can ask it about any feature or topic related to the website. Typical questions include:

  • How do I import a playlist?

  • Which video collections are available?

  • How does the merge toggle work?

  • Can I use J1 Template on my phone?

  • What player controls are available?

  • How do I export and share my playlist?

The agent answers in plain language and, where helpful, includes step-by-step instructions. It can respond in any language — simply write your question in German, French, Spanish, or whichever language you prefer, and the Chat Agent will reply in the same language.

How to Use the Chat

Using the Chat Agent takes just a few simple steps:

  1. Navigate to the Chat Agent page. You can find it in the main menu under ChatBot > Chat Agent.

  2. You will see the chat window with a text input field at the bottom.

  3. Type your question or message into the input field that reads Enter your message …​.

  4. Press Enter on your keyboard or click the send button (the arrow icon to the right of the input field) to submit your message.

  5. Wait a moment while the Chat Agent processes your request. You will see a brief loading indicator while it works.

  6. The agent’s reply will appear in the chat window above your message.

You can continue asking follow-up questions in the same conversation. The Chat Agent remembers the context of earlier messages within the current session, so you can refine or build on previous answers without repeating yourself.

Chat Window Layout

The chat interface is divided into several areas:

Header

At the top of the chat window, you will see the title J1 Template Chat Agent and a Neuer Chat (New Chat) button on the right side.

Message Area

The large central area displays the conversation. Your messages appear on one side with a person icon, and the agent’s replies appear on the other side with a robot icon.

Input Bar

At the bottom, you will find the text field where you type your messages. Next to it is the send button.

Status Bar

Below the input field, a small status bar shows the current connection state (a green dot means: the agent is connected with the AI server) and which AI model is in use (default: Claude Haiku 4).

Starting a New Conversation

If you want to start fresh and clear the current chat history, click the Clear Chat button in the top-right corner of the chat window. This removes all previous messages from the screen and begins a new conversation.

Starting a new chat, what clears the current chat history, can be helpful when you want to ask about a completely different topic and do not need the context from your earlier questions.

Knowledge Base

The Chat Agent does not search the open internet for answers. Instead, it relies on a curated knowledge base that contains detailed information about J1 Template’s features, settings, and usage. This means the answers you receive are specific to J1 Template and based on verified, up-to-date documentation.

You can view and manage the knowledge base on a separate page. To get there, open the main menu and go to ChatBot > Knowledge Base.

Tips for Getting Good Answers

The Chat Agent works best when your questions are clear and specific. Here are a few tips:

Be specific

Instead of asking "How does the playlist work?" try something like "How do I sort my playlist by duration?" The more precise your question, the more useful the answer will be.

Ask one thing at a time

If you have several questions, it helps to ask them one after another rather than combining everything into a single long message.

Use your own language

The Chat Agent can understand and respond in many languages. You do not need to write in English if that is not your preferred language.

Refer to earlier answers

Because the agent remembers the current conversation, you can say things like "Can you explain that last step in more detail?" and it will know what you mean.

Limitations

While the Chat Agent is very helpful, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • The agent only knows about J1 Template. It is not a general-purpose assistant for unrelated topics.

  • It does not search the internet. Answers come exclusively from the _ J1 Template knowledge base_.

  • Very long or complex messages may occasionally produce less precise answers. If that happens, try breaking your question into smaller parts.

Do I need an account to use the Chat Agent?

No. The Chat Agent is available to everyone without any login or registration.

Is the Chat Agent free?

Yes. Just like the rest of J1 Template, the Chat Agent is 100 % free to use.

Which AI model powers the Chat Agent?

The Chat Agent uses Claude, developed by Anthropic. The specific model in use is shown in the status bar at the bottom of the chat window.

Can the Chat Agent help me with things outside of J1 Template?

The Chat Agent is designed specifically for J1 Template. While it is powered by a capable AI model, its knowledge base is focused on J1 Template features and usage. For general questions, you may want to visit Claude directly.

Is my conversation private?

Your messages are sent to the Anthropic API for processing, but they are not stored on the J1 Template server. The chat history exists only in your browser while the page is open. Once you close or reload the page, the conversation is gone.

Why does the agent sometimes take a moment to respond?

The Chat Agent sends your message to an external AI service and waits for a reply. Depending on the length and complexity of your question, and on current server load, this can take a few seconds. The status bar will indicate when the agent is working on your request.

Can I use the Chat Agent on my phone?

Yes. The chat interface adapts to smaller screens automatically. On a mobile device, the layout adjusts so you can type and read comfortably.
